Few evergreens can be used in shade gardens as well as full-sun with equally good results. While you may not get many blooms in the deep shade, the foliage remains lush and attractive. Periwinkle forms a fairly thick mat, so does an excellent job of deterring weeds, and is gorgeous cascading over the edges of embankments or hanging baskets.
