Sophora prostrata 'Little Baby'

Visitors to the nursery often do a double-take when they see this specimen of Sophora prostrata 'Little Baby.' Tiny compound leaflets seem to be strung randomly along the zigzagging branches, creating a unique visual effect. Bonsai enthusiasts may find this an intriguing specimen. Technically hardy to 10° F. 'Little Baby' doesn't do well with freezing weather and should be moved to a sheltered area of the garden in severe cold. That said, this sophora is an excellent container plant, with the potential to reach five feet in height and three to four feet wide.
