Variegated Japanese Forest Grass adds a light, airy feel to shadier garden areas. The variegated leaves, reminiscent of bamboo, move gracefully with garden breezes. Though 'Albo-striata' hakonechloa can eventually grow to two feet tall and possibly three feet wide, it is slow growing and pairs well with other shade plants in container planters and hanging baskets as a graceful backdrop for summer blooming annuals.
