This celosia's nickname, 'Cockscomb Venezuela,' is somewhat deceiving, as this variety forms upright, feathery plumes of magenta flowers and not the flattened, cockscomb shape of some of its cousins. Its upright bearing makes it a perfect centerpiece for container planters and hanging baskets, and a standout in garden borders. A tender perennial, 'Cockscomb Venezuela' will bloom right up until frost, forming compact mounds about a foot tall and wide. Give this celosia a sunny spot in the garden for most prolific blooms.
